·  Closely related to the lychee and longan

·  Very unusual looking with a hairy appearance

·  Gets its name from the Malaysian word for hair, “rambut”

·  Juicy-sweet in texture with an enjoyable flavor similar to a lychee, but less acidic

·  Rosy flavor resembles a combination of a strawberry and a muscat grape

·  Peel off the hairy skin to extract the fruit and remove the seed just before serving.

·  Easily eaten by itself, in salads, with vegetables and in sauces.

·  To avoid moisture loss, wrap in a paper towel and store in a perforated plastic bag in an area with high humidity, typically between 34 – 40°F
